HR Student Bursary

 
We recognize that educated people possessing a broad spectrum of experience are the future of a strong and vibrant HR profession.  To assist a new generation of HR professionals achieve their academic and work-related goals, the Sudbury Human Resources Professionals Association is proud to announce the continuation of a bursary specifically for people whose goal is to enter and be productive in a career of Human Resources Management.

The maximum value of the Mike McNaughton Bursary will be a paid student membership allowing the recipient to participate in the activities of both the Sudbury Human Resources Professionals Association and the Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario!

Guidelines

Students must indicate on their application for the Mike McNaughton Bursary that they:
  • Are enrolled full-time or part-time in the HR stream and actively working towards writing the Comprehensive Provincial Exam.
  • The student must show that they have successfully completed 4 accredited courses of the required 8 courses in the HRM program.  A transcript of the courses is needed.
  • Have obtained a B or better in each HR course.
  • Are involved in volunteer work in the community.
Active involvement with SHRPA would be an asset (attendance at the monthly meetings, serving on committees).

SHRPA reserves the right to award more than one bursary among the applicants, or none.  No bursary will be given if the applicants do not possess the required criteria.  More than one bursary will be awarded when the applicant's credentials indicate that this is possible and where the funds available allow this to be feasible.  Sponsors, please see note below.
